Frequently asked questions
The things people ask us most, answered plainly.
Is there anything for children?
Yes, we see children from age five and there is a separate children's fee guide. We keep first visits short and friendly so that coming to the dentist feels normal rather than frightening.
How do I cancel or change an appointment?
Please give us at least two working days notice. Late cancellations and missed appointments carry a fee, based on the length of the appointment, because the time cannot be offered to anyone else.
I am nervous about the dentist. Can you help?
Yes, and you are in good company. Tell us when you book and we will give you a longer appointment, explain everything before we do it, and stop whenever you ask. Nothing happens without you agreeing to it first.
What happens at a new patient appointment?
We take time to talk through your history and what you would like to change, examine your teeth, gums and jaw, take x-rays and photographs where they are useful, and then explain what we have found in plain English along with your options.
Do you take new patients?
Yes, new patients are always welcome, adults and children alike. You can book online, message us on WhatsApp, call us, or send an enquiry and we will come back to you.
Do you offer emergency appointments?
Yes. Call us as early in the day as you can and we will do our best to see you. Fees for emergency appointments are on the pricing page.
Where do I park?
There is free parking on site, and electric car charging. We are on The Highway in Charlton All Saints, with bus routes from Salisbury, Downton, Fordingbridge and Ringwood.
What does treatment cost?
Our full fee guide is published on the pricing page, for both plan members and pay as you go. You will always get a written treatment plan with costs before any work begins.
Can I spread the cost?
For larger treatments we can introduce you to finance options provided by third-party lenders. Details are on the finance page, and we can talk it through at your appointment.
What is the wellbeing centre?
Alongside the dental practice, The Stag is home to a growing collection of independent health, beauty and wellbeing services, all under one roof: Opalite Hair Studio, My Beauty by Nikki, Complete Fertility and Elevate Lifestyle Medicine.
